Welcome To Cotswold Photo Walks

CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY TUITION. INSPIRING LOCATIONS

Cotswold Photo Walks has created a series of specially designed, expert led photo walks around the most beautiful locations across the Cotswolds: the largest designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK.  Our photo walks are carefully researched and selected for their varied photographic potential and provide participants with high quality teaching to improve both their technical skills as well as their creative approach.

Cotswold Photo Walks are a brilliant new and inspiring way of teaching you how to get much more from your camera, getting you out and about and helping you to develop your creative eye.

Take a Look At Our Photo Walk Schedule
Our guided Cotswold Photo Walks include an eclectic mix of glowing golden Cotswolds limestone towns and villages. including Painswick (the “Queen of the Cotswolds”), iconic Broadway Tower with its ornamental churchyard Yew trees and the wonderfully picturesque Lower and Upper Slaughter.

The art of capturing the beauty of snowdrops and bluebells in their natural landscape are amongst our most popular photo walks. These teach you lots of really useful photography techniques as well as providing you with the opportunity to take your own close up images ready to frame and enjoy at home.

We also offer more abstract photo walks such as our unique night-time session around Gloucester Quays which teaches you how to create stunning images in very low light.

Cotswold Photo Walks are generally two hours long but two walks – usually within 30 minutes’ drive of each other – are often run in one day so you why not make a day of it and enjoy a leisurely lunch somewhere in between? Or if you have more time then you may be interested in coming along to one of our full day walks.

Come Off Auto
On each photo walk, you will be given specific creative objectives which encourage you to try new approaches, to see things a bit differently and learn some great new tips and ideas on how to take compelling, beautiful images.

We’ll also teach you how to take control of your camera settings – coming off auto really does open up a whole new world of photographic opportunities and is the start of you developing your own unique style.

Photo Walks For All Skill Levels
We have a range of photo walks designed for complete beginners through to more experienced photographers and with no more than 8 people in a group, everyone benefits from some one-on-one tuition.               .

While a simple point and shoot is fine for a number of our walks (please check the schedule for suitability), a Digital SLR or Bridge camera with Aperture/Shutter Speed/Manual functionality is required for others in order to get the most from the session.

Share Your Photographs  With Us
The photo walks are very social and we often finish up in a coffee shop or the local pub, to discuss the days’ shots of course! Following this, we invite to share your favourite Cotswold Photo Walk photographs on our Flickr site.

“Ian was incredibly helpful and had lots of patience. We were shown how to be creative and what to focus on and look out for. Being provided with this detail is exactly what I needed. Technically I picked up on some very valuable advice.”
“I possibly had a bit more experience in photography than some in the group but it was still great to be able to hear things explained in a simple manner (it’s surprising how sometimes we get into bad habits). It was also useful to hear the questions of other members. It really got the old grey matter working!”
“A great way to spend a morning, good company, a relaxed atmosphere and managed to learn a lot as well”
“Thoroughly enjoyed it! Great location and we were with a great group of people. I came away with a lot and a renewed enthusiasm for my photography.”
“I thought it was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning. Great company, beautiful location and cameras! Perfect :)”
